Differences Between CNC Turning and CNC Milling

CNC turning and CNC milling are the two most commonly used machining methods in manufacturing. CNC turning is generally used for cylindrical and rotationally symmetrical parts, where the workpiece rotates while the cutting tool remains fixed.

In CNC milling, the cutting tool moves to create complex geometries on multiple surfaces of the part. Operations such as slotting, pocketing, and surface milling are performed on milling machines.

Choosing the correct machining method depends on the part design and functional requirements.
